Due to the fact that the rotor houses had a diameter of more than 6,5 metres, the rotor houses have been transshipped on a chartered coaster, which transported the rotor houses directly to Esbjerg, where the rotor houses have been directly discharged onto waiting trucks and delivered to clients in the same night.

Shipping in the future from Bremen – Freight remains in Svendborg

With the takeover of the 3,750 tons ships, Sine Bres, Nina Bres and Birthe Bres, the Bremer Lloyd Group acquires shares in the shipping company Nielsen & Bresling A/S in the Danish Svendborg.

N&B is specialized in the transport of wood products, such as paper, cellulose and sawn timber and operates today the three multi-purpose freighters, Sine Bres (IMO 9364150), Birthe Bres (IMO 9365491) and Nina Bres (IMO 9394260), which are built between 2006 and 2007.

Captain Axel Nielsen and shipbroker Poul Bresling founded the shipping company N&B on 11 May 1960. After the acquisition of the Jytte Bres, the fleet grew temporary up to 15 ships. Today Peter Witt is managing N&B as the CEO.

For Bremer Lloyd this step means a re-entry into the active chartering business in this segment with direct access to various shippers.

Together the number of ships shall be increased and renewed by additional own and third-party tonnage. In addition, N&B will be able to offer its customers door to door transport solutions including supply chain logistics as from now on.

The Bremer Lloyd Group generated a revenue of around 20 million Euro in 2017 and currently employs 30 employees in Bremen, Riga, Shanghai and the affiliated United Lloyd Crewing GmbH & Co. KG around 100 seamen.

Zur Case Study

Freight: Rotor blade

Pickup: Turkey

Destination: Spain

After the importing vessel was heavily delayed, Bremer Lloyd has been asked to work out a solution to transport a test rotor blade on the fastest way to a rotor blade test centre. The rotor blade has been discharged in Turkey and Bremer Lloyd fixed a vessel, which brought the rotor blade on a direct basis to Spain, where a truck was already waiting, enabling to deliver the rotor blade in time to the laboratory.
